Frequently Asked Questions

What are the first steps?

Congrats on taking this first exploratory step towards emotional wellness! Therapy is a brave endeavor.  The good news is, you don’t have to go it alone.  Finding the right match for you is the most important piece.  In my perspective, this means someone that you feel can attune to you and hold your experiences with with. Some signs that it is a right fit are that you feel drawn to connect, comfortable and safe, someone who you believe you can build trust and connection with, who you believe can hold space for you and who will gently challenge you where appropriate, but go at your own pace.

If you feel drawn to work with me, reach out for a free 20 minute consult where you can:

  • Share your story and what you are hoping to get from therapy

  • Explore whether it would be a good fit

  • Have a brief assessment

  • Clarify any questions you may be still curious about

Do you take insurance?

I am not an in network provider with any insurance companies. However, I can provide superbills for insurance plans that offer out of network benefits. This means that you would pay for sessions out of pocket and then your insurance company may reimburse you a certain portion of your expense.

To find out if you have these benefits available to you, reach out directly to your insurance provider and review your benefits summary. It is a priority to help in any way I can to make mental health care sustainable for you so feel free to chat with me if you need clarity about this.

Do you see clients virtually?

For client convenience and health, I am fully virtual currently. There will be an option for in person sessions in the future. I plan to transition in person with options in Santa Monica and Playa Vista/Culver City eventually.

A note about virtual sessions - While I miss connecting in person, I have found unexpected value and benefits to virtual sessions. For many, it makes getting support more realistic and accessible. I have been surprised by how easy it is to connect with clients just as or even more deeply. Moreover, new research has shown that online therapy is equally effective.

Do you have any resources?

Yes! Check out my resources page. There you will find books & articles, referrals to other vetted wellness practitioners, and more.

If you are a Mama looking for support, check out these downloadable worksheets.

Do you offer sliding scale rates?

Yes! If you want support, but can’t afford my full fee, let’s chat about how I might still be able to support you.

For individual clients, I reserve a few spots for sliding scale rates. If I don’t have a spot available, I can connect you with lower fee resources.

For groups and workshops, I don’t turn anyone away who wants to participate for financial reasons.
