In the book of Exodus, when Moses meets God for the very first time at the Burning Bush, Moses asks God, “So what do I call you?”
God responds, “Ehyeh asher ehyeh - I will be what I will be.” In other words, I am in the process of becoming. I am in evolution. I will become who and what I am meant to become.
This is my absolute favorite passage in the Torah. I love it because even though it’s Almighty G-O-D we’re talking about, this phrase captures what I believe to be the human experience: we are all in the process of discovering who or what we will become. We’re all evolving. If we are willing to put in the effort, we can eventually become who we’re meant to be.
