meditation saved my life

I know. It sounds dramatic. But it’s true. Meditation can save your life. Why? Well almost all healing can be done through a practice of learning to regulate our nervous system, which meditation is proven to do. Meditation has been shown to help treat mood disorders and improve focus. I recommend the Calm app to almost all my clients and especially moms. And I swear… this is not an add!

I hear from everyone (including myself), “I just don’t have the time,” “I can’t sit still,” “my monkey mind won’t let me do it.” Well - if this is you, then meditation is exactly what the doctor ordered. And in fact, it actually doesn’t take much time compared to other wellness activities (therapy, going to the gym, etc.). I also encourage you to know that you don’t have to be a monk. If listening to a meditation on your commute or while walking your dog is the only time you can do it - great, that’s fine.

My personal favorite is Jeff Warren. He has a “Daily Trip,” which offers a daily 10 minute mediation, but he also has a series about How to Meditate. I find that he is palatable and makes meditation and mindfulness realistic to practice.
